Let us start with the description of the term “work equipment”. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment describes this term as follows:

Work equipment includes all devices used in the work, ranging from simple tools to machines and components of process installations. In order to be able to work safely and healthily, work equipment must be in a sound condition and used correctly. Compliance with the regulations for work equipment is an obligation of both employers and employees. Sources: https://www.arboportaal.nl/onderwerpen/arbeidsmiddelen

As you see, it is a very broad term and we understand that you as an employer or employee do not know exactly what is included. Please do not hesitate to contact us, so that we can help to put you on the right track.

The Ministry states the following about “work equipment”:

The inspection (Article 7.4a, third paragraph) for the timely detection of wear, aging or deterioration must take place periodically. Such a recurring inspection and any test can also be used to check whether sufficient maintenance is being carried out, so that dangerous situations can be prevented.

How often the inspections have to take place depends on the type of work equipment and the intensity of its use. Regular inspection guarantees the soundness of the work equipment and its good condition. In the Working Conditions Decree the guideline is at least one inspection per year.

For each work device it is assessed how often it has to be tested and what type of inspection should be carried out. This depends on the intensity and methods of use, as well as the environment of the work equipment. We will be pleased to draw up a plan with you in order to minimise the risk of accidents and create an as safe work environment as possible.

In order to always have your work equipment comply with the legal requirements, you have come to the right place. We can address your concerns and take care of the entire process for you. Do you still hesitate or do you have any questions? Then please contact us.
